Apollo 13
Creative, Artistic, Innovative, and Unique are all characteristics routinely used to define Apollo 13. Apollo 13 consists of two member Dredz & K1da, both MC’s & Producers in their own rite, began as childhood friends in the DMV area. After discovering their mutual desire for creating music in 2002, along with the inspiration from Phonte, Big Pooh and 9th Wonder (Little Brother), they decided to get serious about making their own much needed mark on the music industry. Developing their own unique sound that continues to set them apart from other DMV artists, they have been compared to the world renowned group, A Tribe Called Quest, but with a new school edge. With their highly anticipated album Open Mic, (totally written and self-produced by Dredz & K1da) slated to set the DMV on fire, Apollo 13 is expected to leave the Hip-Hop genre at a standstill. Containing the certified hits; Fly Sh*t, Swagtastic and Rooftop Dreamz, Open Mic defines the true definition of real Hip-Hop at its finest. Recently the song “Rooftop Dreamz” was featured in the DMVs own Kapital Magazine, and they’ve had the privilege of having their music in rotation on various internet radio station outlets. With more achievements to come, Apollo 13 will continue to stay true to their roots in the DMV while gaining support not only from their hometown, but also from everyone throughout the entire universe, all the while, “Taking Music Out Of This World.”
