M1 platoon has to be one of my favorite groups coming from the DMV. 9th Wonder is their mentor so you know their music is incredible. I’ve been waiting for Casey Veggies mixtape to drop for the longest. It was supposed to drop July 1st, but it’s nowhere to be found. There’s a song on Customized Greatly Volume 2, that I’ve been constantly listening to since the song came available on the next like a couple of weeks ago. The name of the song is called I’m shaded. There’s been a lot of noise from all the rappers on XXL’s, the 10 Freshmen issue. I think B.O.B., who was on the cover might have dropped one of the best mixtapes this year so far. Oh Amerie
I feel like a boyfriend who has been anticipating his girlfriends return from a long hiatus overseas. And oddly with the release of “Because I Love It” not being sold in the U.S. thats exactly what it is. When I found out Amerie was back, the Princess of Summer, I wanted to scream “MY BABY’S BACK B!TCH!!!”. Of course at the CrabzInABarrel office they specifically don’t allow me to rant and rave and shout as much as I’d like to, so I sat there quietly content with a face similar to this ^_^ . MJ Dance Crew Tribute
CALLING ALL DANCE CREWS!!
Michael Jackson’s memorial service is tomorrow and in the week since his death, we have not seen a proper dance tribute to the late great legend. Michael was original and innovative and took his performances to another level, not just vocally but visually. Would Thriller have had such a lasting legacy without the dance scene or MJ’s transformation into werewolf? Would Smooth Criminal have been as spectacular without the kick ass dancing and of course “the lean”? I think not, so it is only fitting that dance crews get the chance to pay homage to the King, Michael Jackson.

Entry Deadline: 11:59 p.m., Monday, July 13, 2009
Eligibility: Open to the public, all ages. Open to all amateur and professional groups, three members or more; no individuals may compete. Individuals may only be part of one dance group.
Entry Procedures: Videos must be at least 2 minutes and no longer than 5 minutes and they must pay homage to the legacy of Michael Jackson. Entries must be submitted by email to crabzinabarrel@gmail.com no later than 11:59 pm, July 13, 2009.
