Man On The Moon : The End Of Day

Man On The Moon: The End Of Day

Hip Hop’s newest artist, Kid Cudi, released his full length album, ‘Man On The Moon:The End Of Day”, that everyone has been waiting for: on the 15th of September. This album is a must get. When Cudi released his mixtape, ‘A Kid Named Cudi’, people were going crazy over it. He released ‘Day and Night’ and people were playing it literally day and night. Kid Cudi had to live up to the bar he raised and he definatly did it because his new album is what we wanted to hear. The CD has a Hip Hop/Electro rock feel to it ; which makes it different. With hits like : The Sky Might fall, Enter Galactic, Heart of a Lion, and In my Dreams you can really get a feel of what is going on in Cudi’s mind. ‘Man On The Moon’ is a great album that everyone should hear.

Fashion Week: Jason Wu

Wu 1

By Manda J

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week for spring 2010 is well underway. While I am eager to see all lines there are certain line I want to see more than others. At the top of my list are Nicole Miller, Mara Hoffman, Diane Von Furstenberg, Tracey Reese and Jason Wu. Jason Wu has received the best kind of publicity a fashion designer can only dream of.

First Lady Michelle Obama,  chose to wear his design to the inauguration ball.MichelleO With all the hype and fame surrounding him I couldn’t wait to see his RTW (Ready To Wear) spring 2010 line.

For his spring line he elected to use gray in addition to color and   print. The bustle is one its way back in, the front and side bussle.

I could see Michelle O wearing the gray skirt with the pink stripe, at a first lady appropriate length with a crisp white blouse.  The gray jacket and the red dress has Michelle O written all over it. Both items are conservative, but contain an element that makes it fashion forward. Some of my favorite Jason Wu ensembles that Mrs. O has worn are basic colorful sheaths.  The little details like the bow on the blue sheath add a young fresh feel to a conservative sheath.

Did I mention I LOVE Mrs.O style, especially the  Azzedine Alaia belt she wears. For more on Jason Wu and his collections visit his official site at http://www.jasonwustudio.com/.

CRABZINABARREL.COM INTERVIEWS UCB

UCB2

Last night CrabzInBarrel.com attended a Welcome Home Party for our new hometown hero’s: UCB!  Here in the DMV, we’ve known about UCB for years.  But after serving as the house band for the MTV VMA’s last Sunday, we’re pretty sure UCB is going to be a household name.  After spending most of the year on Wale’s highly successful “Attention Deficit Tour” and being surrounded with megastars like Jay-Z, Lady Gaga, Kid Cudi, Pitbull and The All-American Rejects, UCB isn’t too good to come back home and hang with the people.  They came back, humble as ever and granted us the honor of an interview.

They gave us the inside scoop of the craziness that was the VMA’s (including what Jay-Z REALLY thought about Lil’ Mama!), what the band’s plans are in the future and how us CRABZ can make it out the barrel!  We were in a club, so the sound wasn’t great, but it was still an awesome interview.  Thanks guys!

Shouts to Byrd too, she really held it down!

ReneeWoods Quick VMA’s Recap

So I was laying in my bed trying to go to sleep but decided to do a recap because I had all these  questions  running through my mind: Where the freak did Lil Mama come from??????????????? Is Jay-Z the President???Who is Lady WTF are you wearing’s stylist??? Did Beyonce really need to have 50 million people in bathing suits dancing behind her??? Is Kanye West on drugs???  Is it me or was every chic in that place wearing different variations of the same dress??? If some of those people didn’t feel comfortable enough to walk in the heels they were wearing why didn’t they just put their flats on??  That’s what we do when we are riding METRO. Half of the chicks that came out to accept their awards were walking like linebackers. Alright yall  I can’t think of anymore questions and I’m going  to go to sleep now.
